The little white romper (LWR) is a must-have for every woman’s capsule wardrobe. Similar to the little white dress (LWD), it’s a fashion staple that you can wear over and over again, season after season. It’s a piece that you mix and match with your dozen other capsule items.
Rompers and jumpsuits have become very popular in recent years and are definitely here to stay, now having their own separate category on retail websites, alongside tops, pants, dresses, etc. It easy to see why – they are so versatile. You can just throw one on and go, without worrying about having to put an outfit together. However, you can have fun dressing it up and styling it with accessories. A little white romper is a great as a stand-alone outfit for Summer, but can also be layered with sweaters, cardigans, and denim jackets for Fall.
The reason I like this romper is because of its adjustable twist-tie front and pretty eyelet design. The plunging neckline and unique peek-a-boo midriff allows you to layer underneath with a pretty bralette, bikini top, or fun crop top. This allows you to add a little color and layer to an otherwise simple white palette. Or, you can simply wear it as is for a cute and sexy skin-revealing look.
In the photos here, I wore it with a beige crochet top and a black bikini top. You can add a pop of bright yellow, red, blue, or any color you like, and pair with matching jewelry and/or shoes. The possibilities are endless. I also added a belt at high waist in order to help create the illusion of longer legs.
It is about 22″ from shoulder to hem and has an inseam of 3″, so it does run on the shorter side and thus is petite-friendly. I’m 4’11” and wearing a size XS.
Best of all, this romper is 65% off at Off Saks and is still available in all sizes. I picked it up at Sawgrass Mills Mall in South Florida, but it is also available online.
