As I mentioned in my prior post, stripes are one of the biggest trends for Spring 2017 and were seen all over the runway at New York Fashion Week last month. Stripes are very wearable and so easy to style.
Last week, I showcased a blue and white striped top; this week, it’s a blue and white striped skirt. The nautical theme is one that you can easily take from Spring into Summer. It’s a timeless print that everyone can wear.
This striped wrap skirt I’m wearing has a sporty-meets-preppy design. It has narrow two-tone stripes, a pretty pleated design, a classic A-line silhouette, and black contrast trim at the waistline that forms into a low-slung belt. The asymmetric hem adds further style to this unique skirt.
The oxford weave is made of not just cotton (77%), but silk as well (23%). It is very soft and comfortable to wear. There is a hidden snap button closure on the inside of the wrap for extra security on windy days.
You can pair this with a neutral-colored top, such as white, beige, grey or black. For the Rag & Bone Spring 2017 runway show, it was paired with a matching blue and white striped poplin dress, similar to this all-white one.
Being petite, I went for something more fitted to balance the fuller skirt. I kept the wrap theme going by pairing the skirt with a white wrapped crop top with a beige, crochet tank underneath. Here are a few similar wrapped tops, priced from high to low:
