One of the most popular styles this Fall and Winter are pleats. While pleats were seen as micro trends this past Spring and Summer, they are now on just about every piece of fashion this season. Pleated skirts – whether midi-length, tea-length or maxi-length – are a must-wear this Holiday season. Incorporate metallics, gold or silver, into the pleats and you’ve got an eye-catching outfit for a Holiday party or for New Year’s Eve.
See my prior post on all the benefits of pleats. They are wearable and timeless pieces. They are pretty and feminine. They are flattering for women of all shapes and sizes.
I love this ultra-luxe, ‘Grace’ Pleated Skirt from Marciano. The metallic gold shimmers in both natural light during the day and low-light during the night. You are bound to receive compliments everywhere you go in this skirt. It is light and airy with movement, yet, unlike other pleated skirts I’ve seen, the fabric is thick and well-constructed.
It truly looks and feels just like the designer A.L.C. ‘Bobby’ Pleated Lame Midi Skirt from Neiman Marcus that I’ve tried on, but is a fraction of the price!
Plus, it’s the most petite-friendly one that I’ve tried on. It is a full-length skirt in which the hem should hit above the ankle on average height women. On my shorter stature of 4’11”, it was a perfect floor length with the addition of some heels, so no hemming was needed! Bonus for me. I am wearing an XS. The pleated maxi skirts from A.L.C. and BCBG Maxazria were a little too big and long for me.
The black long-sleeved lace top I’m wearing is from BCBG Maxazria and can be found here.
Be the envy of the party this Holiday with this gold pleated skirt!
