Fashion’s muse of the moment is ‘Cinq a Sept’, a new line that just debuted this Fall and has already made a huge splash in the fashion world. Cinq a Sept is the French term for the hours between 5 – 7 pm, that transitional period between late afternoon and early evening, when the beautiful brightness of day comes to a close and the alluring darkness of night emerges. Similar to the balance between day and night, Cinq a Sept purposely embodies a balance between mature sophistication and youthful daringness.
The line is launched by industry veteran Jane Siskin, a key partner in two highly-successful brands – Seven for All Mankind and Elizabeth and James. The collection attempts to fill what Siskin perceives as a gap in the fashion market – styles for those “special moments” in your life. Whether it’s a girls’ brunch, a wedding or shower, or a night out on the town, the line wants to offer luxe pieces at a mid-range price. It attempts to bring “occasion dressing” into everyday moments in your life.
It’s an eclectic collection with unexpected aesthetic touches – such as estate-sale brooches, globally sourced vintage prints, sumptuous fur, ornate details, and striking silhouettes. The pieces are feminine, romantic, and sexy – perfect for the modern, confident woman.
The dress I’m wearing is the ‘Leona Flare Dress,’ and it’s strikingly beautiful. It has long, flared trumpet sleeves for youthful playfulness, a seamed waistline to create a feminine shape, and a jewel neckline for sophistication. It is a form-fitting dress made of dense stretch knit. This is a perfect dress for those “special occasions”, even if it’s just brunch. You won’t be disappointed.
The pieces in this collection are also petite-friendly! I’m 4’11” and wearing a size 0. As you can see, these bell sleeves do not run long past my wrists, and the skirt falls just above my knees.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Please leave a comment and tell me what you think! Would love to hear from you.
