Off- the-shoulder tops may be very trendy right now in the mainstream fashion world, but they have long been a fashion staple in many Caribbean and South American countries and cultures. They keep you cool in the hot weather and they can also be very feminine, flirty, and flattering for women of all shapes and sizes. So, I decided to wear one on our recent trip to the Bahamas.
The top is a very feminine, Spanish Lace Crop Top from NightCap, in white. It is also available in a beautiful sangria color and in black. The shirt is very well-made and the fabric is so soft on your skin. It is lined on the inside, so you can forego a strapless bra underneath if you want. The flutter neckline is feminine and pretty. The short sleeves and crop length are perfect for the hot and humid weather of the islands. If you’d prefer a top that covers the midriff, here is the regular length Spanish Lace Off-the-Shoulder Top, also available in white, sangria, and black. This Positano Top can also be found at Neiman Marcus and it’s a qualifying item for the Double Gift Card promo going on right now.
Nightcap is an elegant bohemian line of clothing launched in 2006 by designer Carisa Brambles. Their pieces are handmade in Los Angeles. Both comfortable and sexy, their clothing is intended to be worn from dawn until dusk, or until ‘night cap.’ I also LOVE that the line is petite-friendly and fits my smaller frame well!
You can pair this crop top with a high-waisted skirt for a very chic look, or a pair of denim cut-offs for a more playful look. I decided to pair it with a Black Pencil Skirt from BCBG. I love mixing white and black pieces, which is such a classic color combo. I chose a simple pencil skirt to balance the more layered, detailed, and full top. This pencil skirt from BCBG is very slimming and flattering, but also very comfortable and stretchable. It is one of their best-selling items and can be found season after season.
